Turn away now, folks, if you don’t like the slushy appreciation of one’s kids.
I don’t, as a rule, but having lived through the build up since around Christmas, it is with relief as well as pleasure that we approach our darling Lydia’s birthday.
7 years old tomorrow, I have been so preoccupied with the will it won’t it weather (no doubt it will) and the planning of a party which she wants (and not the one we want, like we usually do) that I have almost forgotten the joyful celebration that is supposed to be your first born’s birthday.
She is funny and fantastic and, every year, she is growing into her nose.
Happy birthday, Lydia, and whether it is sunny or pours, I hope the climax is worth it. You are only 7 once so enjoy every moment.
Lovely Little Lydia – Happy Birthday !!
She is so excited and says she might scream on waking up! I did tell her to try not to.
Happy Birthday indeed Lydia. I am loving watching you grow so much.

Ah thanks Lisa. One that was just for her, no joint ones with friends in the park – a BBQ in the garden – it just about stayed dry for us xx
Happy birthday to your little or big Lydia!! Love the pictures!! hope she loved her birthday!! so did she scream when she woke up??!!!!
Ah thanks Adeline! No she didn’t after all, but she did wake up with a big smile on her face. She had her ‘best birthday ever’ – it pretty much stayed dry so we had a bbq in the garden. x
