Photos at the Laban

The Laban Centre for dance has to be one of the most photogenic buildings in South East London, inside and out.  I’m there most weeks and generally can’t help snapping a few photos on my phone.  It has inspired some of my favourite shots over the last year (some of which regular readers will have seen before).

No wonder it was awarded RIBA Building of the Year in 2003, after moving to its present spot in 2002.

It probably also helps that it is generally sunny in the perfect teletubbyesque hills (even when it’s also snowy).

We hang out there a lot.  One day we might even get to the top of the waiting list for the Children’s creative dance classes.*

*This is only partly a joke.  The waiting list is about 2 years long; we are still waiting for one of our darling offspring to get to the top (last known to be 71st for his age group).

  1. Great photos Hatty. Surely not with a camera phone though ?
Imagine if Gotye performed there. We would have to carry you home in a bucket.

    1. Thanks Dean, yes indeedy, with my little Samsung. Not a great phone or camera but the Laban makes everything look beautiful. That’s why I hang out there so often! Great idea. Next time you see Gotye, talk to him about doing a few dates there. We would make him very welcome – a few buckets needed! ;0)
